The word replica refers to duplicate, and the replica gun means duplicate gun. Replica gun is now banned in United Kingdom to carry along with.

It is the gun which is just manufactured just after the inspiration of the original gun.

There are many replica guns available; most of this type of gun is used in today’s movies.

They are prepared in such a manner and in improved technique that it just seems like the actual gun.

However this replica gun is not made to kill someone as there is no such facility to load any kind of bullet, but yes it can be used in place of real gun to make scared someone.

The replica gun are prepared with unlike features and themes, on the other hand it also made in different intellect for which the user want to use it.

There are many replica guns which are made with the inspiration of the modern guns that are normally seen today with the cops. There are many gun which can be prepared in home with the help of some materials which also known as toy gun.

It can be prepared is such a manner that they seems like the original gun and they worth more then that.

This replica guns is used most of the action movies where guns are involved in the movie. These guns are made in such a realistic way that they looks like the real one, they are actually astonishing.

Nowadays there are also many old fashion replica guns which are not used but hence they are used in the old movies. They are just useless things fro today generation who likes to collect the modern techniques replica guns, this old fashion gun are only use fro those who possess the hobby to collect old things of back era, especially the special guns which were used by famous law enforcers and infamous outlaws.

These old fashion replica guns were used by many western movies and now they are just the antique piece to be kept in museums. There is also one more model of replica gun that is simple air gun which is also use for hunting normal birds, ducks etc.

Last but not the least there are many blank firing gun which are used in many movies and many fans of these movie want to have that type of blank gun for their own. However this type of replica gun does not exit in real life but they are people are trying to make such type of replica gun which is used by their fans in movies, for just to display this gun in their homes.

It is very harmful to carry replica gun outside your homes as already mention that it is banned, and many people were shoot by the local police in the charge of carrying guns.

So it is better to just display this replica gun in your home either to carry them along with you outside your home.

I have.

I have a Luger pistol given from my father’s collection. Before, I didn’t pay attention to this pistol;

I was more interested with my other gun collection such as Colt 1911 or Berretta M-92 which in my opinion has better appearance.

However, ever since I have friends from military & historical reenactor community, the more I heard stories about how sturdy and accurate the Luger is. It made me put more attention and love to this pistol.

After cleaned and test fire this pistol in the nearby shooting range, I’m interested to find a holster for this Luger. I’ve seen how my reenactor friends wear their World War 2 German army uniform along with this holster to house their air soft gun Luger which looks really nice. Of course I was thinking the uniform and my Luger would look good together.

After I browsed from one websites to another, I only found various information or history about Luger P-08 pistol and not the holster, which I really want it so much.

Even if there is one for sale, the holster would be an authentic WW2 Luger holster which of course would cost very expensive for me.

Finally I asked one of my reenactor friends where did he buy the Luger holster. He simply laughed and said, “There are hundreds of them that you can chose in e-bay”.

Wow, I didn’t remember there is e-bay. Of course I can easily find it in e-bay.

As soon as I search it, I found all kind of Luger holster offered in e-bay. There are originals and replicas. After searching and compare prices, qualities and of course the credibility of the seller I finally found a right holster exactly as I desired.

So if you have difficulty to find the holster, try searching it in e-bay.

Here some Luger Holster from Amazon..

As a military sidearm, it saw service in both world wars and was adopted by the armies of a number of European nations. Not surprisingly, collectors keenly seek Luger pistol and some models are extremely valuable.

After gaining a government contract in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War, the company began to manufacture rifle sight assemblies. Lowe und Companie's skill and precision at this venture soon led to further government contracts, both domestic and foreign. It was not long before sewing machines were traded for weapons as the successful company began making firearms full time.

In 1886, Ludwig died and Isidor began a joint venture with Waffenfabrik Mauser, AG to produce rifles for Turkey. As time passed, the activities of these two companies intertwined together around the successful manufacture of firearms.

Hugo Borchardt, a German born, naturalized U.S. citizen, worked at several small companies before working for the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven, Connecticut.

His first patent was given while with Winchester for a machine to cut lubrication grooves into bullets. He also designed the 1878 Sharps rifle which was named after him. In 1890, after employment at various companies in the U.S. and Europe, Borchardt joined the Lowe firm and later designed a large toggle-action semi-automatic pistol that bears his name.

Georg Luger, an Austrian, became involved with firearms as a result of his involvement with Ferdinand von Mannlicher. Luger experimented with rifle designs for bolt action and self-loaders for twenty years before joining Lowe in 1891.

WWII German Police officers sword by the scarce maker Emil Voos, complete with hanger, sword knot and in it's original black painted scabbard. A really attractive example of a WWII German Police officers sword and a real must have item for the WWII collector.

The method I will describe herein is based on more than 40 years experience working with wood and furniture refinishing and more than 20 years cleaning and restoring Luger grips.

I have used this method on more than a hundred pair of grips ranging from almost gone and black as the proverbial ace to nice grips that just needed a little help. I also clean grips prior to touching up checkering.

I find this method to be much less abusive to wood than soap and water and it will soak out some bad stuff with very little physical effort. The product used is common brushable paste paint and varnish remover.

MATERIALS

Brushable paste paint and varnish remover. A pint can will last forever. [I use Kleen Strip brand called StripX available at Wal-Mart]. A couple of tooth brushes [new or save some used ones]. A small plastic container about 5" square and 1" deep with or without lid. Soft paper towels. Newspapers [to protect work area]. Acetone [pint can lasts forever and at same counter in Wal-Mart]

Disassembling and Reassembling German Luger

METHOD

Place grips in plastic container. Some times when I don’t have the container at hand, I just make a small nest on the bench out of the Wal-Mart bag. Shake can of paste per instructions. Pour enough paste over the grips to completely immerse them.

Let the grips soak in the paste. If grips are nice but just need a little help, 1 or 2 hours will do it. Real black and cruddy grips will need several hours. Don’t worry the paste will not damage the grips. Soak over night or all day. I frequently soak 2 pair at the same time. Remember, this paste will remove finish from wood and metal. Cover working area with newspaper.

Remove grips one at a time. Lay the grip flat surface and using a toothbrush, brush crud and paste off of the checkering. Brush in both directions with checkering grooves with long strokes. So not scrub. Wipe brush with paper towel after each stroke. Brush again with a second clean brush. Brush paste from back side of the grip. Soak a soft paper towel with acetone and wipe off backside. Soak another piece of towel with acetone and dab checkering. Don’t spare the acetone. No need to wipe across the checkering. This will just leave fuz in checkering anyway [which could brush out later with a dry brush].

Luger Grip Removal

A word of caution; I would recommend that you wear surgical gloves while handling the paste and acetone. Neither product is an acid and will not cause pain but prolonged exposure can be a health hazard. Grips will start to dry quickly. I sometimes blow them dry a bit with air hose, but not necessary. The StripX can says that paste can be flushed with water---this is not necessary. Water causes it to congeal a bit.

A word of caution; on occasion you may have a left grip on which the small piece under the safety was just hanging by a thread. Brush carefully in that area. If the little piece comes off---not to fret---when wood has dried, carefully glue it back on with Super glue GEL. Do it carefully and you will not be able to tell if ever came off. I have replaced numerous missing pieces with new wood using Super Glue GEL. Better and faster than epoxy. You can hold the piece in place for a few seconds and it is set. Get the piece where you want it fairly quickly.

Within a few minutes you will be able to tell if you soaked grips long enough. If grips still appear too dark for your taste----soak again. The original color of wood in Luger grips varies. Some grips, particularly 1920s were very light and almost yellow when new. Some were dark to start with. Set the grips aside for a few days---put them back on the Luger--. After a few days a bit of remaining natural or added oils will leach out a bit and grips tend to darken and take on an aged look. It will be obvious that some grips, which came out very light in color, will not darken enough for your taste. Some grips begin to show darker grain streaks after a day or two.

FINAL FINISH

I have restored many grips that did not require any oil or stain after cleaning. Each Luger owner has a preference as to color. Some like them dark as the dickens others including me prefer a natural wood look. I do not use or particularly care for boiled linseed oil. I think it darkens grips too much. Sometimes a grip will have a light streak or area that is not pleasing. This occurs especially when touching up checkering on the edges or on a worn smooth area. I recommend 2 products, which I have used for some years that may be obtained from Brownell’s of Montezuma IA. One is Pilkington Classic Red Brown Linseed stock rubbing oil. It is thinner than usual linseed and has a bit of red brown stain in it.

A Qtip dipped in the bottle and then dabbed on the grip works great. The oil spreads quickly and very little is required. Let the grip dry for a couple hours. If the grip is not dark enough---do it again. Pilkington also makes a Spirit stain called Pre64, which will darken grips even more. With use of a Qtip light streaks or spots in checkering can be touched

up without staining entire grip. I caution against use of off the shelf furniture stains. They usually have a filler that tends to gum up checkering, does not penetrate well and may leave a dull look to the checkering. The Pilkington products are not cheap but the small bottle lasts forever. If your grips end up too dark after staining them–all is not lost---just soak them in the paste for a while and do it again.

NOTES AND FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Not all Luger people agree on when to clean grips. If you have a mint rare Luger but grips are too dark---think it over. This process will not damage grips. Pretty grips are like nice straw–it kind of makes the Luger. Try not to make the grips look 100% better than the rest of the Luger, just give them a little face lift. Of course if it is just your "shooter" make them look new if you can.

You will be amazed what you can do with some of the bad looking wood grips found on import Lugers. Take the worst grips you have and experiment on them before working on a prize Luger. This is not a difficult process; don’t be afraid to try it. I have used the same paint and varnish remover to remove cosmoline from military gunstocks for years. Works great! From time to time I have experimented with Easy Off oven cleaner to clean Military gunstocks and Luger grips. It works, but is messy and hard on the hands. I plan to stick with the paint and varnish remover.

The M1 Rifle was originally manufactured with one of two finishes: linseed oil or China/Tung oil. Towards the end of WWII the linseed oil was supplanted by Tung Oil, a finish which was used, I believe, during '50's production. M1 Rifle refinished stocks were, however, generally refinished with linseed oil.

In all cases the finished stock was simply dipped in a tank of linseed or Tung oil for a few minutes and then allowed to drain dry.

Garand stocks that come from the CMP, whether as parts or on a rifle, are often coated with that sticky goo called cosmoline. Even those that are not are likely to be oil soaked or stained in one area or another.

Here's what I do. To strip the old finish and remove oil & dirt, I use Easy-Off Oven Cleaner (the Heavy Duty variety). Spray it on, let it soak for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse off with very warm water while scrubbing with a Scotch-Brite pad. Usually one go with the Easy-Off is sufficient, but I have had to repeat the treatment up to twice more.

When the stock has dried I follow up with a coat or two of Minwax Natural Stain (unless I'm getting creative) and finish with two or three coats of Minwax Tung Oil finish. Minwax Natural is clear; it simply seals the grain.

Except in extreme cases the strongest abrasive I will use is 00 steel wool. Usually a mild going-over with 00 before and after the first coat of Natural stain, then 0000 thereafter. I use my thumb to cover the cartouche and Proof stamp, in turn, to assure I don't further degrade it.

I repeat the process with the Tung Oil; after buffing damp (10-15 minutes after application) with a balled-up nylon stocking or pantyhose (really!), allow drying for 24 hours then buff with 0000 steel wool. After the second coat, buff with 0000. After the last coat, buff with the stocking.

The result looks military but is more durable. I've done more than a dozen M1 and M14 stocks this way, with total satisfaction. If you're able to attend the OGCA shows (e-mail me if you wish to be sponsored as a guest), stop by the GCA booth. I generally have my CMP rifle and my wife's CMP rifle there, refinished with this method.

Restoration starts with an examination of the receiver, not only for serviceability and safety, but for its markings. It was the practice of the U.S. Army's Ordnance Corps to mark a drawing number, which also served as a part number, on most major parts of battle rifles until the end of the Korean War.

The drawing number was preceded by a letter, A, B, C or D which related to the size of the part's engineering drawing.

For instance, the drawing number for the original M1 Receiver was D28921. The "D" indicated that the engineering drawing was done on a 22 by 34 sheet of paper and the number was a sequential value assigned to the part; the Alphanumeric designation served to identify both the part and its drawing in case a problem arose in manufacture or use and the part needed to be redesigned or in any other way altered.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnjxnwCRz5k

In succeeding years, as engineering and manufacturing changes were made to any part, the drawing number was modified by a sequential suffix, i.e., -1, -2 etc. The M1 receiver was altered 43 times during its period of manufacture.

Sub-contractors building the M1 were also required to follow this same practice. Those receivers manufactured by Winchester were marked either with the suffix "-2" or "WIN-13." Post-World War II Garands manufactured by outside contractors International Harvester and Harrington & Richardson used the part number "D652891-42" through "-N" and "652891" through "D-652891-E."

For the collector, these numbers and their suffixes make it possible to determine the receiver's period of manufacture. For instance, a receiver with the serial number 1,823,965 and a drawing number D28291-29 would have been manufactured at the Springfield National Armory between July and August 1944, in the serial range 1,765,200 to 1,900,000.

Of course, it is possible to check the serial number stamped on the back of the receiver to determine the period of manufacture. But in the 1950s and 1960s when M1 Garands were very scarce collector's items, receivers that had been demilitarized -- cut or torched in half -- and sold for scrap metal, were rewelded by enterprising gunsmiths and reassembled as original rifles. By comparing the drawing number and the serial number, you can go a very long way quickly toward eliminating the possibility that a particular rifle is one of the "dreaded" (to a collector) rewelds.

Barrels

The drawing number in combination with the serial number also makes it possible to validate other parts as original or replacement. For instance, the vast majority of M1 Garand barrels were also marked with part numbers and dated. A barrel dated "8-44" on our s/n #1,823,965 receiver would be correct but not if its drawing numbers was D35448W.R.A. The drawing number indicates that the barrel was made by Winchester. And since Winchester did not date their World War II barrels, someone has obviously added the date in an effort to mislead.

The problem of matching correct barrels and receivers becomes trickier after late 1944. As a stockpile of barrels was slowly built up, we find that barrel dates can lag at least three months behind. A Springfield M1 Garand receiver manufactured and serial numbered in January 1945 could have had an original barrel installed that was manufactured as early as October, 1944.

Serial numbers and "drawing" number validation can be applied to other parts of the rifle such as the trigger housing. There are fifteen variations of the trigger housing manufactured by Springfield, five manufactured by Winchester during World War II, two by International Harvester and only one by Harrington & Richardson after World War II. Differences are fairly minor but of great importance when restoring an M1 Garand.

The trigger housing, like most other parts in the M1 Garand has a drawing number but not a serial number. The correct trigger housing for our hypothetical M1 Garand, serial # 1,823,965 would show drawing number D28290-12-SA indicating that it was the twelfth change made to the trigger housing and was manufactured at the Springfield National Armory. Trigger housings with this drawing number were installed on all M1 Garands manufactured at Springfield between circa serial numbers 1,010,000 to 3,300,00. Its distinguishing characteristics are a cloverleaf-shaped hole in the upper left side and a raised area of metal called a "pad" near the top left edge and directly under the top arm of the safety.

One other consideration in selecting a proper barrel concerns shooting. If you plan to shoot your M1 Garand and want an accurate barrel, you need to select one that hasn't been "shot out." You can perform a quick check without expensive gages using a .30-06 cartridge. Insert the bullet into the muzzle. The rifling should grip the bullet tightly while leaving a 1/16 inch gap between the rifling and the neck of the brass cartridge case. If the case touches the end of the muzzle, then the bore is gone, and with it, accuracy.

Rear Sights

What about the rear sights. Collectors are always fussing about the rear sights on the M1 Garand. The rear sight assembly has five parts you need to worry about 1) aperture, 2) base, 3) cover, 4) windage knob and 5) elevation knob and pinion. For both the windage (A) and elevation knobs (B) which are the most important elements.

How do you know your rifle has the correct rear sight particularly when you realize that neither drawing number nor the serial number was marked on the individual parts. Basically, there are four combinations of these parts to make the rear sight and they are distinguished primarily, but not completely, by the way the windage knob was manufactured and secured. In the early rear sight, the windage knob could be removed by screwing out the windage knob flush nut. Soldiers complained that the knob often came loose and allowed changes in windage, or else fell off altogether and it or its spring or lost.

To remedy this, the Ordnance Department replaced the flush nut with a lock bar that could be tightened down and held in position by a spring. The problem with this arrangement was that if a soldier had to make a windage adjustment quickly, he often could not do without a tool to loosen the lock bar.

To solve this problem, the Ordnance Department ordered the locking bar to be replaced with the original flush nut but one that was held captive on the windage knob shaft so that it could not fall off. This solved the problem but this fix was not applied until World War II had ended.

The fourth type of rear sight, by the way, was that developed for the National Match M1 Garands. It has the captive flush nut but windage adjustments are made in increments of 1/2 minute of angle. To accomplish this, the thread on the shaft is double that on the normal M1 windage knob shaft.

M1 Garand Stocks

Perhaps the most commonly confused phase of restoring an M1 Garand has to do with the stock. There are fourteen variations of the M1 Garand stock that have to do with the style and length of the barrel channel, the shape of the pistol grip and the routing for the trigger guard assembly. And then there are the different stock markings which involve inspector's acceptance marks and proof marks. Until about September 1953, Ordnance Department inspectors stamped the left side of M1 Garand stocks with a cartouche that included their initials and the initials of the Springfield National Armory or the manufacturing company, if a contract item.

There were five Springfield inspectors and three Winchester inspectors during World War II (one Winchester inspector appears in two forms). After September 1953, a cartouche of the National Defense Eagle was substituted and so appears on all International Harvester and Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand stocks.

But complicating matters no end, refurbished rifles during and after World War II also had a cartouche applied to their stocks -- mostly refinished or newly manufactured -- that consisted of the inspector's initials and the initials of the facility in which the refurbishment was done. In most cases, they are very similar to those applied to original rifles.

The following table should help to end some of the confusion surrounding the stocks and illustrate how serial numbers and markings can work hand-in-hand to identify a particular rifle for restoration.
